PCOD is common and affects periods, weight, skin and hair. Whatever treatment you choose, daily habits play a large part.

  • Aim for at least 30 minutes of brisk walking or exercise most days.
  • Cut down on sweets, sugary drinks and refined flour (maida).
  • Include vegetables, millets, pulses and protein at each meal.
  • Keep a simple record of your period dates.
  • Sleep seven to eight hours and find ways to manage stress.

Keep up regular check-ups with your gynaecologist, especially if periods stop for several months or bleeding is very heavy.
